Stunningly simple - the 'dead-head' has a nice gritty texture to it - the composition is great.... If I was to really nitpick I might suggest healing the flower that sits behind the flower on the right and is just visible behind the petal - the flower above and in the background is a great compositional element and gives a feeling of depth. Nice work.

The black background was created by using a flash on the subjects thus throwing most of the background into darkness. I increased the blacks with selective colors in PS further throwing almost everything into black and then cloned out the remnants to get the complete black BG.

This is a different and interesting new image you have produced here, very unlike you in my eyes.
I really like the concept but I'm not sure whether I exactly like it. It's a great image don't get me wrong - I like how you have put it together and how you've chosen to place it all. Just something seems to be missing to make this better?. Either that or something needs changing.
It could almost pass as a painting.

Nice idea. I like the high contrast look and feel. The one thing I'm not so sure about is the flower on the left - I almost feel like the composition on the right could stand on its own, and maybe convey the title concept more directly. Beautiful execution!

Very nice contrast. The flowers' color is so great with the dark background. But there is one thing I dont like it that the picture have 2 focus points on 2 opposite side. So it makes the eyes confuse and they will focus on the dead flower in the middle which is not meant to be focus.

Still great job with the contrast !

Oh...Gary it's a different taste from your side...I loved it among your recent works

The title works well in establishing this photo. Technically and on it's own without a title it has a wonderful contrast and colors but the composition is a bit spread out.
